Welcome to Forest Hills Pony Club

Metro Cup now to be

run Sunday 28th June

CONGRATULATIONS

TO ZONE 23 AT

STATE EQUITATION

Image Congratulations to all families from Zone 23 who have travelled to State Equitation at The Rock. Not only did they battle 100km wind, rain and sandbagging the jumps to stop them blowing away - they came home with the Champion Zone Team Award! Cassandra Looveer from Arcadia, Samantha Tripp from Avondale  and Stephanie Mackillop and Rachel Higgins from Forest Hills were the riders that made up that team. That is a credit to them all.

Our last Rally Day was a great day and it was  lovely to see all the new riders tackling the jumping and cross country with such ease! With so many events on we had limited instructors for the 42 members who turned up and I need to say how impressed I was with the 4 instructors; Greg Nixon, Garry Temm, Alf Picello and Sue Feeney who are all new to instructing and tackled the day with such huge enthusiasm. I received fantastic comments from all the riders as to how much they enjoyed the day. I look forward to them all completing their NCAS exams in the near future.

Our next  Rally Day will be the Langsford Merza Trophy on the 7th June. This day will be run as a Teams event and is a Combined Training competition (consisting of Dressage and Equitation Showjumping). See the note below as to how the competition will run.

Image For all those who went to Zone 23 Showjumping and those that missed out, Ryde Pony Club will be hosting the Metropolitan Cup again this year on the 31st of May. This is a great day of showjumping and always very well run, so if you enjoy jumping, try to make the time for this one! The entry form is in the document section of this website.

There is a Proposed Calender in the document section of this website. Please be aware that this is subject to change as events are still being locked into the year. We will update both it and the Calender on the website regularly, so do keep checking.

Try to check this website regularly as it is one of our main forms of communication. Information about competitions, draws for competitions, applications for schools and knowledge articles are published on this site. Check the document section of the website to download these as hard copy.

JUNE 7 2009

8.00am Registration
8.30am Team Selection and Organisation
9.30am Gear Check

10.00am Dressage starts

The Langsford Merza Trophy will now be run as a combined training teams competition. The 2 phases will be Dressage and Equitation Showjumping. All riders will be divided into 6 random teams on the day with all levels being catered for within the team. The Dressage tests will be the Prep 2, Preliminary 1.2, Novice 2.2 and Elementary 3.2. These tests are on the website in the document section. Each member chooses the test they would like to compete at and the higher tests will be weighted to give a higher score. Callers are allowed for the dressage tests (wearing appropriate footwear, of course!) and EVERY AGE GROUP WILL NEED TO PLAIT (YES - EVERY age group - it is really good practice even for the littlies to help mum...) Equitation jumping will be run in grades and there will be a F Troop catered for. Each rider will have 2 rounds of jumping. All members in each team will get ribbons - great fun and great practice - what more could you ask for!
